About us

The Pilgrims of Stoke is a San Francisco Bay Area collective of exemplary musician-singer-songwriters who each bring their own distinct flavor to the band. Their shared roots spanning over 30-years together are evident in the group sound where each individuals’ experience and style shines through. 

All members are masters at their instruments and artists in their own right. Nick Peters, the founder of the band, is a guitarist and singer who taps into jam band and roots music influences. His vision for the band is to share his love and joy of being there for the music with the other players and audiences.  Tony Khalife is a singer, virtuoso guitarist, and tabla master, who brings an exotic world music sound to the group. Rob Morris is a phenomenal bluegrass guitarist and thoughtful song crafter, adding layered dimensions to their music. John Lester is an exceptional bassist and award-winning songwriter, infusing his jazz-influenced stylings into the band sound.   

Every Pilgrims of Stoke performance showcases their rarefied musicianship, improvisational skills, and individual talents via a mix of their own original songs and choice cover material.
